Lechal
Lechal (lay-chull, "Take me along" in Hindi) is the world's first interactive haptic footwear. It is a fashion and lifestyle brand that specialises in disruptive innovations that smoothly integrate into the everyday. Lechal footwear was born out of a simple impulse to use technology to help the visually-impaired navigate their worlds better. This impulse continues to guide Lechal’s design philosophy and aesthetic, which is one that puts inclusivity and accessibility first.
I got the opportunity to develop the visual identity for India's first wearable-tech and lifestyle brand. It also included a wide range of brand extensions such as mobile application design, information architecture for the mobile app intended for the blind, the main website, shopping portal for Lechal, various publications, promotional collaterals and event booth designs.
Identity Design
The form for this concept was inspired from the compass needle. Lechal in hindi means 'Take me along'. Just like a compass needle directs one to the destination, Lechal will do so too. Also, it is not only relevant for the footwear, but also other lifestyle products to come that will guide people to a better lifestyle and living.

Web Design
A fully responsive website was designed to launch and showcase the world's first interactive haptic footwear.

A detailed document was prepared as my academic conclusion to the undergraduate design programme at National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad. It can be viewed here.
